Brief Introduction

Mr. Suryamani Kumar is working as an Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist in the Department of Dairy Technology of SGIDT, Patna. He has more than eight years experience of teaching, research and extension. He did his graduation from SGIDT, Patna (RAU, Bihar) and obtained his M. Tech (DT) degree from Faculty of Dairy Technology, Mohanpur (West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, West Bengal). He is a life member of various societies like Indian Dairy Association, New Delhi; Dairy Technology Society of India, Karnal; Association of Food Scientist and Technology, Mysore; Society for Up-liftment of Rural Economy, Varanashi etc. His research work during M. Tech (DT) was on “Technological aspects of Phirni and Development of Phirni Mix Powder”. His areas of interest are formulated dairy foods, indigenous milk products, packaging technology, market milk etc. He had worked as PI / Co-PI of research projects “Market assessment and process up-gradation of indigenous milk products of Bihar origin (Khorma/Belgrami and ChhanaBalusahi)” and “Enhancement of Shelf-life of Paneer by using Bio-preservatives”. He has attended various National and International conferences/seminars/symposium and presented technical papers and poster presentations. He has recipient of prestigious “Best Teacher Award for the year 2014-15 of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour and also received “Young Scientist Award” and “Best Poster presentation Award” by the professional societies. He has published more than 10 (peer reviewed NAAS rated) research / review paper in International and National journals and about 20 technical/popular articles in magazine/Journals/Souvenir.
