Bihar Animal Sciences University celebrated 127th Birthday ceremony of Dr. Bhimarao Ambedkar on 14.04.2018 at Conference Hall of Bihar Veterinary College, Patna. At the onset Dr. R. K. Sharma, Incharge Cultural and Literary Section, BVC welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. The programme was started with offering flowers, wreath and cutting birthday cake of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, BASU and other dignitaries. Welcome speech and opening remarks was given by Dr. S. Samantaray, Dean, BVC. The contribution of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar towards country and the life journey of Dr. Ambedkar was discussed in detail by the various speakers. Dr. Saroj Rajak, Asstt. Professor, BVC told that Dr. Ambedkar struggled not only for the rights of weaker section of society but he was a social reformer and struggled for the right of women in India and for the rights of laborers. Other faculty and students of Bihar Veterinary College, Patna also participated in the deliberations.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, BASU in his deliberations discussed the ideology of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and his contribution in framing of the great Indian Constitution. He told that still there is need of empowering women and still women are deprived of many rights including right in the paternal property. The motivational books of Dr. Ambedkar should be made available for students in college library, he added. On the occasion the deliberations were given by Dr. H. M. Saxena, DRI-Cum Dean PG, BASU, Dr. Chandramoni, Director Research, BASU and Dr. Alka Sharan, Director, IAHP, Patna. On the occasion faculty of BVC, SGIDT and Scientist of IAHP along with students were present. The programme ended with vote of thanks.
