Brief Introduction
Dr. Nirmal Singh Dahiya is an accomplished professional with over 28 years of experience in teaching, research, extension, and administration within the fields of agricultural and animal sciences. He has worked extensively in frontline extension, farmer training, and field demonstrations, and has held leadership roles in prominent agricultural institutions.
Dr. Dahiya began his career in 1996 as an Assistant Professor at KVK and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Professor and Head at the College of Agriculture, Bikaner. His extensive academic background spans over 20 years in undergraduate teaching and 5 years in postgraduate education, where he has mentored numerous students in livestock production and allied subjects.
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Dahiya has valuable administrative experience, having served as Head of the Department (LPM) at the College of Agriculture, SKRAU Bikaner, for 12 years. He also held the position of Dean at the College of Agriculture, SKRAU Hanumangarh, and Director of Students Welfare at Bikaner University. His leadership in these roles has greatly contributed to the growth of the institutions.
Dr. Dahiya has contributed to over 14 research papers, 3 short communications, 14 books, and 52 popular articles, making a significant impact on the scientific community. His dedication to extension education has seen him build strong farmer-scientist linkages, promoting sustainable livestock-based livelihoods and empowering rural communities. Dr. Dahiya’s leadership and passion for agricultural education continue to inspire progress in higher education and rural development.
