Brief Introduction

Dr Ajeet Kumar has joined as Professor cum Chief Scientist in the department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics in April 2020. He has graduated from Bihar Veterinary College, Patna (1999); M.V.Sc. from PAU, Ludhiana (2001) and PhD from GADVASU, Ludhiana (2011). Dr. Kumar has started his professional career in 2002 as an Assistant Professor in Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, PAU, Ludhiana and rose to Associate Professor in GADVASU, Ludhiana in 2016. He has 17.5 years of experience of teaching, research and extension. His area of expertise is bull fertility and semen cryopreservation. He has developed rapid freezing protocol for cryopreservation of buffalo bull semen. Dr. Kumar has handled 04 projects as PI and 09 projects as Co-PI (DBT/DST/UGC/ICAR/RKVY) and guided 04 MVSc students. He has published 116 research papers and developed several extension materials like pamphlets, brochures, models for creating awareness among farmers.
