The university is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects everyone regardless of Caste, Colour, Religious belief or cultures. While maintaining diversity of all kinds, it also commits to ensuring protection of everyone including Schedule Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and acting as per the provisions of constitution of India in such matters. In order to create a living and working environment where all Students, Teachers and Non-teaching staff feel safe and respected. The special cell for SC/ST in Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna came into existing through F. No. 87/BASU/DSW/CBD/453 dated 18.07.2019 with minimum infrastructure and follow the guidelines of Government of Bihar, Government of India and University Grant Commission, New Delhi. After the establishment of the Cell in the university, it specifically concentrated on the welfare of the SC/ST Students, Teachers and Non-teaching staff. The main aim of the Cell is to monitor the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), the University Grants Commission and by the Government of Bihar from time to time. The Cell would ensure the residual disposed as the discrimination complaints received from SC/ST Students, Teachers and Non-teaching staff.

Functioning of SC/ST Cell

  • Grievance Redressal; for any grievance(s) regarding academic, administrative or social problems. The Cell render them necessary action and advice/help to resolve the matter.
  • To deal with representations received from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates regarding their admission, recruitment, promotion and other similar matters in University, Institutions and Colleges.
  • Function as a Grievances Redressesal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the university and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
  • Maintain online and offline complaint register for grievances of the students and employees belonging to SC/ST community, and any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these communities suffering social, economic and educational deprivations.
