Brief Introduction:           

                 Awadhesh Kumar Jha is a Professor in the of Dairy Business Management. He has more than 27 years experience of work with various reputed national and international institutions. He has worked at National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (NCAP), New Delhi now renamed as National Institute for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research as Senior Research Associate. He has also served International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid and Tropics (ICRISAT) as a Visiting Scientist under Comprehensive Assessment of Impact of Watershed Programs (Global theme-Agro-ecosystems).
He has been associated with a number of national and international studies like Assessment of Impact of Watersheds in India (ICRISAT, ADB and Comprehensive Assessment), Contract Farming in Milk Production (IFPRI), Assessment of Research Needs in India (ICRISAT-APPARI), Mitigating Livestock Feed Scarcity in India, Goat Milk and Meat Value Chains in Bihar and UP (ILRI). Besides, he has been associated with development of the World Bank aided project for development of Kosi Basin (KBPD-II) and Livestock Master Plan of Govt of Bihar. He was the Co-PI of NASF project on improving rural livelihood security of tribal and resource constrained farmers of North Bihar through low cost technology of Animal Husbandry and allied sector. Presently, he is engaged in one institutional project entitled Technical and Economic Efficiency of Milk Producers in different agroclimatic zones of Bihar and Co_PI in two other institutional projects

He has received a number of awards and has published 75 publications including research papers (32 in peer reviewed journals), Book Chapters, Research Reports, Policy Briefs, etc

  • T. Doshi Foundation Award for the best paper presentation in the IX Annual Conference of Agricultural Economics Research Association’, held in Delhi on November 21-22, 2001 with Dr. Anjani Kumar and others.
