About
Department of Dairy Extension Education of Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology (SGIDT) was established to undertake extension activities, besides teaching and research in Extension Education. Major extension activities of the department include; Organization of Training Programs (National & International), Transfer of Technologies, Conducting Demonstrations, Scientist-Farmer-Interactions, Kisan-Gosthies, Animal Welfare Camps (AWCs), Field Days, Organisation of Research-Extension-Industry-Farmer-Interface, Farmer-Field-School, Self Help Groups (SHGs) formation, Exposure Visits etc.
Mandate
- Conduct Teaching as per the course curriculum of ICAR Deans Committee
- Conducting Demonstrations (FLD/OFT) and Field Extension Activities for empowering various stakeholders involved in dairy value chain
- Creating awareness about improved dairy technologies among various clienteles through appropriate extension programs and activities.
- To promote adoption of Dairy based Technologies and Innovations
