Brief Introduction:

         Dr. Binita Rani is currently serving as Professor in the Department of Dairy Chemistry at the Bihar State Institute of Dairy Technology (BSIDT), Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU), Patna, Bihar. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar.

Throughout her distinguished academic career, Dr. Rani has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and extension education in the fields of dairy science, food science, nutrition, and agricultural development. She has established an impressive record of scholarly achievements, having published more than 47 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals. In addition, she has authored four books, five book chapters, six laboratory manuals, 47 popular articles, and 61 technical bulletins, reflecting her commitment to scientific communication and technology dissemination. She has also successfully guided one M. Tech. (Dairy Chemistry) student as Major Advisor.

Dr. Rani’s academic excellence has been widely recognized through her active participation in national and international conferences, seminars, and scientific forums, where she has delivered 41 oral presentations. Her outstanding contributions have been acknowledged with 16 prestigious awards, including three Best Paper Presentation Awards, three Best Poster Presentation Awards, two Best KVK Scientist Awards, the Outstanding Scientist Award, and the Excellence in Teaching Award, among several other honours conferred by reputed professional societies and academic organizations.

An effective science communicator, Dr. Rani has delivered 39 radio and television talks focusing on agricultural technologies, food and nutrition, and dairy development, thereby promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge to farming communities and the general public.

Beyond her academic and research accomplishments, Dr. Rani plays a pivotal role in institutional administration. She currently serves as Officer-in-Charge (Academic–Postgraduate Programme), Officer-in-Charge (Girls’ Games and Sports), Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee, and Chairperson of the Verification Committee at BSIDT, BASU, Patna.

Earlier in her professional career, she demonstrated exceptional leadership in establishing and managing several innovative extension and training facilities, including Video Conferencing Centres, Soil Testing Laboratories, Mushroom Spawn Production Units, Integrated Farming System (IFS) Models, Community Radio Station, Crop Cafeterias, Forage Parks, and Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Demonstration Units at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patna. As Unit Head, she successfully transformed these facilities into dynamic centres for farmer training, skill development, technology demonstration, and knowledge transfer.
