Blood Donation Camp

SGIDT, Patna

NSS, BASU, Patna in collaboration with Prathama Blood Centre, Danapur, Patna organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 14th May 2025 at SGIDT, Patna. The camp aimed to create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to encourage students and staff to contribute to this noble cause. A large number of students, and staff members of SGIDT, Patna actively participated in the camp and donated blood willingly. Such initiatives help in saving lives and promote a sense of social responsibility among the youth.

CoF, Kishanganj

On Friday, 30 May 2025, under the Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna, a blood donation camp was organised jointly by the Fisheries College and College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Kishanganj, under the National Service Scheme (NSS) units. In this camp, students, teachers, and staff members from both colleges enthusiastically participated and contributed to the noble cause of blood donation. The Deans and other officials of the colleges were present on the occasion and encouraged the participants. The camp was inaugurated by the Dean, College of Fisheries, Dr. V. P. Saini, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Dr. Chandrahas. While inaugurating the camp, Dr. V. P. Saini said that blood donation is the highest form of selfless service. A blood donor, through a single decision, can save the life of a needy person. Dr. Chandrahas described blood donation as true service to humanity. The successful organisation of the camp was supported by NSS program officers Dr. Naresh Raj Keer, Dr. Rakhi, and Dr. Shiv Kumar. The event also received special support from Rohit Daftari, President of Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (Kishanganj branch) and Vineet Daftari, President of Terapanth Professional Forum, who have previously been honored for organizing blood donation camps.

CoVAS, Kishanganj

In pursuance of the spirit of community service and social responsibility promoted by the National Service Scheme, the NSS Cell of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CoVAS), Kishanganj successfully organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the College of Fisheries, Kishanganj, Akhil Bhartiya Yuva Parishad, and the Terapanth Professional Forum. The programme was organized with the objective of encouraging voluntary blood donation among youth and contributing to the strengthening of community health services.The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year of the undergraduate programme, who came forward with great zeal and commitment to donate blood for this noble humanitarian cause. A team of qualified medical professionals and technicians ensured that the entire process of blood donation was carried out with proper medical supervision, hygiene, and safety protocols. Necessary health screening procedures, including hemoglobin testing, blood pressure measurement, and general health assessment, were conducted to ensure the eligibility and well-being of the donors. The camp successfully collected a significant number of blood units, which will contribute to meeting the requirements of patients in need of urgent medical care.

Faculty members of the college also actively participated in the programme, demonstrating their support for this humanitarian initiative and motivating students to develop a sense of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility. Their presence and encouragement played an important role in creating a positive and inspiring environment throughout the event.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Dean of CoVAS, Kishanganj, who addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the NSS Cell and collaborating organizations for organizing such a meaningful social service activity. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation as a life-saving act and encouraged students to actively participate in community-oriented initiatives that contribute to public welfare and national development. The blood donation camp proved to be a highly impactful and socially meaningful activity, reinforcing the core values of the National Service Scheme—“Not Me, But You.” The programme not only contributed to strengthening the healthcare support system but also fostered a culture of altruism, civic responsibility, and community engagement among the students of the college.
