Brief Introduction
Dr. Y.S. Jadoun, presently serving as Associate Professor & Head, Department of Dairy Extension Education at Bihar State Institute of Dairy Technology (BSIDT) under Bihar Animal Sciences University with more than 12 years of rich and diversified experience in teaching, research, extension education and community mobilization. Earlier, served for nearly 09 years as Assistant Professor at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Punjab, where he made significant contributions in livestock extension, farmer advisory services, technology dissemination and capacity building.
Dr. Jadoun possess an extensive academic and extension portfolio with 50 research/review papers, 55 book chapters, 97 extension publications, 03 authored/edited books, 18 edited training manuals and 04 UG practical manuals to his credit. He developed the innovative “Pig Farming” Mobile App, contributed to the development of a MOOC on Pig Farming and prepared video tutorials for UG teaching, reflecting his commitment towards ICT-enabled extension education and digital livestock advisory services.
During his professional career, he has successfully organized and participated in 95 animal welfare camps, field days and exposure visits, 45 scientist-farmer interaction programs, 20 Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) & On Farm Trials (OFTs), 14 Pashu Palan Melas and 20 Kisan Melas. In addition, he has delivered more than 229 expert lectures and coordinated over 200 training programs as Coordinator/Convener/Course Director for farmers, rural youth, entrepreneurs and extension personnel.
He has guided 11 PG/Ph.D. students (07 as Major Advisor and 04 as Co-Guide) and efficiently handled externally funded projects worth more than Rs. 2.80 crores, including the prestigious ICAR Farmer FIRST Project (>Rs.180 lakhs), PSCST funded project (Rs.50 lakhs), PMKVY-RPL Project (Rs.51.08 lakhs), MATRI Program under RGM (Rs.46.44 lakhs), Institute Projects (Rs.11.50 lakhs) and PRTC Project (Rs.24.71 crores).
His contributions have been recognized through several prestigious honours including 02 Young Scientist Awards, Excellence in Extension Award-2020, Scientist of the Year Award-2021, Farmer Led Extension Award, Membership Award of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) and 12 Best Oral/Poster Presentation Awards. Presently, He is Chief Editor of “Pashupalan Darshika” Hindi Magazine and holding additional responsibilities as Deputy Director (Training & Information), Directorate of Extension Education, BASU, Patna. He remain committed to promoting innovative extension approaches, farmer-centric capacity building and sustainable livestock-based rural development.
