Objectives

The Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) provides an effective mechanism for redressal of grievances of students already enrolled in the University as well as students seeking admission. The Committee ensures transparency, fairness, accountability and timely resolution of complaints in accordance with UGC Regulations.

Guidelines

• A complaint from an aggrieved student relating to the institution shall be addressed to the Chairperson, Students' Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC).
• Every Institution shall constitute Students' Grievance Redressal Committees (SGRC) to consider grievances of students.
• At least one member or the Chairperson shall be a woman.
• At least one member or the Chairperson shall belong to SC/ST/OBC category.
• The term of Chairperson and Members shall be Two Years.
• The term of the Special Invitee shall be One Year.
• The quorum for meeting shall be Three Members including the Chairperson.
• The SGRC shall follow principles of Natural Justice while considering grievances.
• The SGRC shall submit its recommendations preferably within 15 Working Days.
• An aggrieved student may appeal before the Ombudsperson within 15 Days.

• Hear appeals only after all remedies under the regulations have been exhausted.
• Examination grievances may be considered only where specific irregularity or discrimination is indicated.
• May seek assistance of any person as Amicus Curiae in discrimination cases.
• Make every effort to resolve grievances within 30 Days.
