Brief Introduction

Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Singh received his degree in Bachelor of veterinary science in the year 1998 from Veterinary College, Hebbal, Bangalore, Karnatka, India. He accomplished his postgraduation-M.V.Sc Surgery in 2000 on pain signaling pathways in animals and Doctoral degree-Ph.D in the year 2005 on Chondroblast culture and cartilage repair from Indian veterinary research institute, India. He attained postdoctoral fellow from National Livestock Research institute, Suwon, Republic of Korea (2005-2007) and his research focus during postdoc was on stem cells transdifferentiation and proteomics. During his Post-Doctoral stint, he achieved stem cell transdifferentiation and has discovered several proteomes. Prof. Singh was conferred in his early age as Best researcher award (2006) from National Livestock research institute, Suwon, Republic of Korea and Excellent research award from International forum of Asian- Australasian Animal Science Congress, Busan, South Korea (2006-2007). Furthering his work on stem cell Prof. Singh, also received appreciation award and Certificate of recognition from Animal Scientific society, United States of America (2013). Prof. Singh was also being conferred 12th AJAS/CAPI outstanding research award at the Opening Ceremony of 16th AAAP Animal Science Congress on November 11, 2014 at University of Gajadah Mada, Yogyarkarta, Indonesia. Dr. Singh, has also been conferred Fellow, of Bio Bank India Foundation Cancer Care (2024) and one health research excellence Award (2025) from One health India organization. Dr. Singh has published around 100 papers in the international and national journals. He has written 10 books on animal sciences and 23 book chapters with National and International Publishers. Prof. Singh has so far delivered around 14 lead/Guest lectures at different International and National forums, 05 radio talks on animal health at Akashvani, Varanasi and has also translated 10 videos from IGNOU on poultry farming into chapters and alongside Prof. Singh has also presented several scientific papers and have received Best paper award at different conferences. He has been nominated by Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery as Judging Member (2023) for the prestigious A.K. Bhargawa Memorial Award of Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery. Prof. Singh has two patents (Year 2014-KNU, Republic of Korea; Year-2022- BHU, India) and one technology transfer (Year-2023; M/S MARRIYAN HEALTH SCIENCE PVT. LTD). Prof. Singh has so far handled 06 Internationals projects as PI/Co-PI and 03 National/Institutional projects as PI/Co-PI.  Prof. Singh has also been associated with many reputed national and international journal as its editorial member and peer reviewer member, member of advisory boards and reviewer. Dr. Singh is also an Editor of Journal of Multidisciplinary Sciences (ISSN: 2671-5449) and also remained earlier as Coordinator of Post-Graduate Diploma in Wild life Health Management (PGDWHM) and owns the credit of starting the same as special course at BHU. Dr. Singh has also hosted international symposia on sustainable animal production at KNU, South Korea in the year 2011, AASHA-2022 multidisciplinary international conference as Convener, HVO-2024 international conference as Convener and chief organizing secretary and OHC-2025 International conference as Convener and chief organizing secretary at Banaras Hindu University and Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. Prof.  Singh has Chaired several scientific sessions as Chairman, Co-chairman and Rapporteur in the past. Prof. Singh has also been elected as Co-Convener of Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery- U.P local chapter. Prof. Singh has spent almost 24 years in teaching, Research and Extension. Prof. Singh started his teaching career as Assistant Professor from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-J) in the year 2001, Jammu.  Subsequently, Prof. Singh also served as Assistant Professor in the College of Animal Sciences at Kangwon National University, Republic of Korea.  Alongside, Dr. Singh has also been Visiting Professor to Jeonju National University, South Korea and remained as Member of Stem Cell Institute, KNU, South Korea and had performed kidney transplantation in Korean pigs for Xeno-transplantation. Prof. Singh has also been associated with university college Dublin, Ireland and KNU, South Korea as Resource person and has been a life member of many scientific societies and has also been appointed as Advisor by BBIFCC. Prof. Singh, has been the founding head of the department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences-RGSC, BHU and headed the department for more than two tenures. Prof. Singh has also Headed the faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences-RGSC, Banaras Hindu University as Dean for more than a year. Prof. Singh has supervised Doctorate and post-graduate scholars in the past and his supervised students have been settled as Professors in Poland institute of technology, Gebze technology University (GTU), University of Nottingham and in administrative services within India. Prof. Singh, profoundly and keenly interested in areas of stem cell applications, Electrospun bandgages, fortified bioglass, bio-degradable implants and canine cancer, Biobanking and other related aspects impacting animal health and production.
