About the Department Department of Dairy Microbiology, BSIDT
The Dairy Microbiology Division is engaged in research, teaching, consultancy, training and technology transfer in the specialized field of Dairy Microbiology.
The department undertakes teaching and guidance for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the University and regularly participates in specialized training programmes.
Research activities broadly cover starter cultures such as Direct Vat Starters (DVS), fermented milk products, indigenous probiotics, functional efficacy, gut microbiota, prebiotics and synbiotics.
The department has well-equipped undergraduate and postgraduate laboratories and is strengthening its laboratory facilities with modern equipment.
