Department of Livestock Farm Complex
About the Department
Teaching, practical training, research and extension activities in livestock production and farm management.
Since its establishment, the Department of Livestock Farm Complex (LFC) is actively engaged in teaching courses as per the Veterinary Council of India curriculum for B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Besides teaching, the department undertakes various extension activities to transfer livestock production technologies to farmers and livestock owners.
The department has demonstrated its potential in research activities including Embryo Transfer Technology (ETT), In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Azolla, Moringa and vermicomposting related work.
The department has also developed Cow Dung Logs (Go-Kashtha), which are available for sale and can serve as a value-addition model for farmers for increasing income from cow dung.
Training of personnel involved in livestock farming is one of the important activities and prime objectives of the department.
The department provides practical exposure to students and supports farmers, livestock owners and entrepreneurs through demonstrations, training and technology transfer.

Cow Dung Log
Production and sale of Cow Dung Logs (Go-Kashtha) for value addition.
Mineral Mixture
Facility for preparation and sale of mineral mixture for livestock.
Eggs & Poultry Products
Sale of eggs, whole chicken and quail produced through farm activities.
Artificial Insemination
A.I. facility in large animals and small ruminants using proven germplasm.
Academic Activities
Undergraduate teaching and practical farm training as per the VCI curriculum.

Livestock Farm Practices
Students are involved in all aspects of animal rearing and receive hands-on training in overall farm practices and livestock management.
